I can't even read more than the first one and my 12 year old daughter is obsessed with them. I even had to sit through the movie (blech).

I did get a new copy of 'Little Dorrit' for Christmas though, which is calling to me. I must be some sort of literary snob or something.Threeundertwohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07841404786048246834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4609384978270256120.post-58914503495083438432008-12-25T02:16:00.000-05:002008-12-25T02:16:00.000-05:00Funny! I didn't get here from that search, but from your comment on my blog (thanks for that...) :) but I have been resisting people's urging for me to read the Twilight books because I've read a couple of bad reviews that make me think I'd hate them for shallow characters, poor writing and obvious plotlines.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4609384978270256120.post-36715942081532628542008-12-24T08:34:00.000-05:002008-12-24T08:34:00.000-05:00However bad the writing may be, Ms. Meyer is laugh...However bad the writing may be, Ms. Meyer is laughing all the way to the bank. Thirteen-year old Emily is DESPERATE to receive the next for Christmas and LOVES her stories. The writer is targeting this YA age group and is certainly successful finding readers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4609384978270256120.post-32426330073674570922008-12-24T08:11:00.000-05:002008-12-24T08:11:00.000-05:00Tiffany, the google searches crack me up. I get about 5 hits a day just from that phrase, making it my new most-searched topic. It's so funny!

Jeanne, you can probably skip the series, unless you really want to be able to talk pop culture. There are TONS of better books out there. If you want vampire romance, I'd read the Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris. Of course, that series isn't YA like Twilight, but it's MUCH better. And it's the series the HBO show True Blood is based on, so it is a piece of pop culture :)What A Cardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06172499250110582833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4609384978270256120.post-56839080631723858042008-12-24T07:46:00.000-05:002008-12-24T07:46:00.000-05:00I'm feeling a little out of touch with pop culture...I'm feeling a little out of touch with pop culture since I've never read the series.
