TK has to watch what he eats

As I've mentioned before, B-man has food allergies. We talk about allergies quite often, to make sure B-man understands he has to be careful about what he eats, and also to assure him that it's just something about him, not bad, not good, just a part of him.

So I'll talk about how I'm allergic to some medicines, and TK is allergic to cats. See, many people have allergies! That was the message I was trying to convey.

That message got a tad garbled.

Here's the conversation we had the other day.

B-man: I'm allergic to nuts. I can't eat any nuts.

Me: That's right!

B-man: And you're allergic to medicine.

Me: Yep, there are some medications I can't have.

N-man, chiming in: And Daddy's allergic to cats. He can't eat any cats!

Me: ......

Another great parenting moment: I realized tonight at dinner that three out of the last four meals the boys have eaten have been pizza.

Ironically, about 3 minutes after that realization, I got a phone call from a Gallup Poll. One of their questions: in the past seven days, how many nights have you had a healthy dinner?

Um, pizza is healthy, right???

Haa! When Husband was being tested for allergies the nurse told him he tested positive for an allergy to rabbit. He asked whether that was just the outside of the rabbit. She thought he was weird. He does love to eat rabbit though.

I need to mention this on the blog but we introduced Ned to the cat - he's noticed her. Every interaction results in watery eyes, running nose, rubbing face. Allergic! At 6 months!

Kids are so literal! It's so grand, isn't it!?
btw, of course pizza is healthy! All the food groups are in there... somewhere.

Those boys crack me up! Just make sure TK checks the menu VERY CAREFULLY at the Chinese restaurant.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh geez. :)

Well, you know - it's like the difference between vegetable oil and baby oil...right? heh

And pizza is totally healthy...depending on what you put on it ;)

B-man, you rock. And yes, pizza is healthy! with veggies on it, and not deep dish, and lite cheese, and, and, and.

Of course Pizza is healthy....it can have all 4 food groups...or all the pyramid pieces. Aaannnnddd, it's baked, not fried. Definitely health food!

Loved the story!

Rest easy, pizza is way healthier than eating cat!

i love the things kids think! my sister is also allergic to nuts, although her allergy didn't come on until later in her childhood...i think around 13-14 actually. she was so sad when she became allergic...she loved nuts!

I'm such a smart aleck, that I'd probably ask something about if he wanted to eat cat...and it would totally go over his head.

Kids are so funny! Laughing is good for the soul. Try and remember the cute stuff so that when the teenage years hit you have that to fall back on.

That's pretty funny.

I think that Pizza is healthier than some of the other options out there - I'm thinking of McD's in particular.
